Although I haven't looked into this specifically, it doesn't seem surprising. While the physics look the same, the simulation engine definitely has things in it that could be affected. For example, the order of simulating surfaces and zones could cause slightly different behavior as things converge because now the zone surface heat balance is being dominated by a different surface in the loop. You could check tightening up convergence tolerances, but in the end that small of a difference does not seem like an alarm.
Hi all,I have a model that I know is exactly square, and the same on all sides. When I use the North Axis field in the Building object class to test out rotations,I find that the result is not exactly the same, although its certainly close enough for me, within 0.5%I have seen other postings in the forum discussing this issue, and am wondering if anyone has been able to resolve this difference, and, if not,if anyone knows when during the calculation process does the rotation occur? hopefully before any sizing or shadowing calculations? We tried this with the DOE reference building model (also square office) and saw the same discrepancyThanks,Jason
