Yip. From memory, you can't put a crack on an adiabatic wall, sorry. You can associate the dummy wall with a zone, regardless of its geometric description or "world co-ordinates". So as you need a crack to outside, the boundry condition has to be outside (perhaps othersidecoefficient may work as well). Just make sure there is nowind nosun set up.
