So there are quite a few ways to define windows in e+. But if a rating standard (or product spec) specifies a "rated" U & SHGC value, how do you apply that to a model.
More specifically, the assembly U-value and SHGC is then as per a "rated" window geometery, i.e. this is geo-dependant!
Can anyone tell me what those geometeries are for
- NFRC
- CEN
And secondly, how to add a custom TYPE in Window 7.1 so that I could specify this geometry? Or am I forced to use THERM?
Now after I have created a window in WINDOW that matches the rated values, whilst staying as close as possible to the reality of frame sizes etc., how do I best transpose those physical properties to my model?
1) I could combine the simple glazing definition for Ug & SHGCg with frame objects for Uf
2) I could use the Total Window Results from WINDOW and use the simple glazing method only and use Uw and SHGCw total.
3) I could import the WINDOW glazing definition
Anyone else?
