Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Conditional directives for the idf files

EMS allows users to write customized controls for E+ models. 'EMS application guide' that comes with EnergyPlus installation describes this feature in detail.  It is for advanced users of the program.

Also, air loop HVAC and most zone equipment have availability managers. These availability managers are high-level control features in EnergyPlus. They are able to access data from any of the HVAC system nodes and use this data to make a decision on whether an entire AirLoopHVAC, zone equipment or PlantLoop should be on or off.

Hello,

I have been looking for information about conditional directives in the idf files, but I have not found anything.

I wonder if there is a way to specify that some parts of the modeled house are not going to be used in the simulation. For example, I have two heating systems: a wall heating system and a floor heating system. I am interested to know if it possible to include some conditional directives for considering them or not.

I know an alternative way, that consist of using a schedule such as: alwaysON or alwaysOFF, the problem is that this solution does not fit well enough in my current design.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Best regards from Austria.
