Hello all,
I am trying to do an Energy Plus simulation in which I want to know the transient building response to a sudden change in the internal loads. For example, if suddenly a lot of people come into the building, how would the system respond?
It appears to me that there E+ cannot do a transient control system sort of an analysis, what I do get is, there is a rapid increase in chiller energy consumption with the sudden spike in load, which is not possible in an actual system, and vice versa when the load is suddenly removed.Â
The response of the building and the HVAC system to an imposed load condition seem to be instantaneous.Â
Is there a way to model this transient behavior in E+? I would ideally expect to see some sort of a gradual increase in the chiller load, and a sudden increase in the zone temperature followed by gradual control. Or as a last resort, is there a way to change something in the source code that could help with this?
Any suggestions/pointers in regard to modeling the transient response behavior would be greatly helpful and deeply appreciated!
Thanks a lot to everyone in this community for all their help!
Hoping to hear back on this soon,
Thanks,
Maathangi
