Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Heating and cooling loads exceed total site energy

Cooling systems tend to have efficiencies greater than 1.

My understanding of heating and cooling loads is that they should always be less than the total site energy (that is, the amount of sensible energy provided by the heating and cooling systems must be less than the amount of energy consumed by those systems as a result of imperfect efficiency). However, in some of my simulations, the sum of the heating and cooling loads ("zone air system sensible heating/cooling energy") exceeds the total site energy. Is something wrong with my simulations, or is something else included in the heating and cooling loads that isn't measured in the total site energy? Thanks for any thoughts or insight you can give.
