Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Adding Battery in E+

Azadeh,

When you're wondering how to do things in E+, a good place to start is usually to go to the examples folder that comes with energyplus. In there you have many examples that are useful to see how things are set up, and you also have an excel file that list all of those.

So basically you go to "C:\EnergyPlusV8-2-0\ExampleFiles\ExampleFiles.xls" (change to match your E+ folder path), and do a search for "battery" and you'll come up with one example file called ShopWithPVandBattery. Look at it, it is informative.

Also, I suggest you open the EnergyPlus Input/Output reference guide and read the section "Electrical Load Center-Generator Specifications" especially ElectricLoadCenter:Storage:Battery (maybe ElectricalLoadCenter:Storage:Simple too)

Good luck

Best,
Julien

Hello,

Can anybody please let me know how I can add a battery to one of the example files in E+.

For example I want to add a battery to RefBldgMidriseApartment example file.

I know I should do modification on this example file in IDF editor but I don't know which part should be modified from class list and what is data for modification parts.

I have a zinc bromide battery . I found the essential coefficients which  E+ needs by using curve fitting tool box in matlab.

I have A,C,D,and E0 which are need in E+ according to E+ documentation.

E=E0+Ax+Cx/D-x

Please help me to do this.

Thank you so much,

Azadeh
