[EnergyPlus_Support] Customizing EnergyPlus

Hi, 

I am pretty new here and I am pretty new with EnergyPlus. I need some help.

I am trying to customize the source code of EnergyPlus, adding or modifying some lines of the code, for a research project I am working on.

I downloaded the source code and I followed the instructions to "Build EnergyPlus". I am not sure what I am doing, but I think at the end of this step, I should create and installer package. 

I basically just would like to have a way to modify the source code and see what the output is, without creating an installer and installing the software every time. 

Is there any way to do that quickly?
