[EnergyPlus_Support] self-contained water-cooled DX VAV system [1 Attachment]





Hello,

I am trying to model a self-contained water-cooled DX AHU as typically seen in commercial buildings. I am using the following objects:

AirLoopHVAC:UnitarySystem
Coil:Cooling:WaterToAirHeatPump:EquationFit
Coil:Heating:Water
Fan:VariableVolume.

I would like to meet all zone cooling and heating setpoints with this system, but this does not happen too well when controlling through 'Load' method (through a control zone). So while using 'Setpoint' control I have placed OA reset setpoint managers for mixer, cooling and heating coils. With this setup, my zones are within setpoints 95% of the time, but I see unexpectedly high cooling energy consumption. I have a feeling it is consuming energy when it should not be. I have been looking in to the model for too long but haven't been able to figure it out, so all your help will be much appreciated.

Please find the IDF attached. (has some convergence errors, but no fatal errors)
Also, this is my first time using this system type, so please let me know if you come across any other inputs that need to be tweaked.

Attachments are currently allowed but be mindful that not everyone has a high speed connection.  Limit attachments to small files.
