[EnergyPlus_Support] Simulation of adaptive facades

Dear EP-Support-Team,

actually we try to simulate an adaptive facade with energy plus and grasshopper, so we want to change fixed parameters like U-Value, g-value, etc. during the simulation. We will loop an optimization simulation for each timestep to get the optimal values for the adaptive facade for each timestep (hourly) of a year.

We can do this optimization-simulations with grasshopper - this is not the problem, but at the moment we loose the thermal history between the time steps (hourly) of each simulations.

For me there are two solutions:

1) control the timestep (pause the simulation), change the idf file and go on with the simulation in the next timestep.

2) store the thermal history of the best facade of the current timestep and use it for the next timestep-optimization-simulations.

In the moment I try to do it with EMS, but I´m not sure, if this is a possible way.

Does anybody have experiences in this field? Which way would you recommend to solve our problem.
