[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Simulation of adaptive facades

I did the same thing as you intend to do in EnergyPlus, using a MATLAB script to perform what grasshopper is doing, that is:
- optimising the control of U-value, g-value and visible transmission in the EMS system;
- update the thermal history in EnergyPlus using a technique which is called Thermal History Management (you can find details in Corbin et al 2013, http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/19401493.2011.648343#preview)

anyway you can find the details of the method I used in this paper (for daily control of U,g and visible transmission):

but I also recently published another work at IBPC2015 conference, in which the optimal control of the glazing is performed on a hourly base. Let me know shall you need further details about this (ff279@xxxxxxxxx).
