Importing external datas into

Hello everybody,

I would like to know if it is possible to import the values of a parameter through an external file. In my case I would like to make the "Slat beam solar transmittance" vary (with a csv-file for example). Is this possible ? If so, how did you do it ?

Thanks,

Regards.

Johann

Johann,
Take a look at the Schedule:File object. It allows a specific value for
each hour of the year.

Is there a way to convert the output meter units from Joule to kWh?

hi guys

I have set a model in OpenStudio and now I am cheking the idf file in EnergyPlus.
I would like to know which are the reesults for the follow Output Meters:

InteriorLights:Electricity,Annual;
Heating:DistrictHeating,Annual;

Cooling:DistrictCooling,Annual;

All the results are in Joule, but I would like to see them in kWh.

Is there anyway to convert these units?
Could you help me?

Any suggestion is very appreciate.

A.

Divide by 3,600,000 (I don't know how to make the output do so
automatically)

For the Eplusout.html, you can switch with output:Table:Style object and
set Unit Conversion to JtoKW (or any of the others including InchPound).

For the Output:Variable stuff, there's no option that I know of that will
do it for you... You'll have divide by 3600000 as Jim pointed out. If you
want "automatic", you'll have to write a preprocessing script;

Actually, for the output variable and output meter results,
if you are using EP-Launch, there is an option under VIEW ..
OPTIONS .. MISCELLANEOUS to check called "Convert ESO/MTR to
IP units". This causes the convertESOMTR program to run. The
conversions are all documented in the
\PostProcess\convertESOMTR\convert.txt file.

Survey on occupant modeling assumptions in building simulation

Fri Sep 25, 2015 10:21 am (PDT) . Posted by:
liambrn

Dear group:

As part of IEA EBC Annex 66, a 100-expert/4-year research project on occupant modelling, I'm leading a survey to better understand the assumptions and attitudes that building simulation users have about occupants. The results will be highly useful to software developers and researchers.

If you can spare 15 minutes, I'd be greatly appreciative if you could fill out the online survey. To recognize your effort, participants have a chance to win some great prizes and will also have access to the aggregated/anonymous results.

Many thanks,
Liam O'Brien
