[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Vertical open loop ground source water-water heat pump

Thank you very much for you reply.

It seems that the easiest way to simulate a GWHP open loop is to simply apply a district heating/cooling with the groundwater setpoint temperature and ingnore it in the output.

In my opinion another soluton (which also appears in the conversation you kindly suggested to me) should be to use the object groundhaetexchagner:pond. Reading the ENG Ref manual, the model could be used modifying some parameters: adopting an infinite water pond volume (small surface area (10m2) and a huge for the pond (10000000m2)) should make negligible the effect of surface heat gains/loss, a high Hydronic Tubing Thermal Conductivity (9999 w/mK) with a high length tubing (1000000m) circuit should emulate a complete transmission of the heat from the circuit to the groundwater, than a high Ground thermal conductivity (9999 W/m2K) should assign the ground temperature value to ground water read from the object site:groundtemperature:deep.

At the moment this is only an hypothesis, considering what is reported in the manual and I'm goingo to test it soon.

Any consideration on that?
