[EnergyPlus_Support] EMS - Custom Cooling Tower Control

Hi All,

I have an algorithm created in EMS where the output is the cooling tower air flow ratio for each timestep. I'm looking to force the cooling tower model to use that air flow ratio and then let the resulting condenser water supply temperature float as a result of that air flow ratio and the ambient wet-bulb for that timestep.

However, it does not appear that there is an available "actuator" in EMS for varying the tower air flow ratio. In other words, it appears that everything related to the cooling tower fan is within the source code and is not available for manipulation via the EMS features. In addition, it appears that the cooling tower model requires a condenser water supply temperature set point (i.e., won't allow the temperature to float). 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
