Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] ZoneContaminantSourceAndSink:CarbonDioxide Input

That's a very good observation but obviously you also need to know the airflow in an out of the room (extraction and supply of CO2), and the room vplume (ppm is a ratio...), and then again solving the differential equation, and there might not be an analytical solution.

This paper should prove interesting if that's a road you want to take.

That is strange. ppm is a concentration. Perhaps the generation can be desribed in a "change in concentration rate" ...d_ppm/s?

Thanks Jim. I found ASHRAE 62.1-2007 the CO2 generation rate is 0.0084 cfm/met/person. Now i will reverse calculate generation rate based on ppm from experimental data.

Thanks,

Javed,
You are correct.
m3/s is a rate (the speed at which the contaminant is introduced to the zone).  ppm is a concentration, the current amount of contaminant.
You'll have to estimate the rate.

Hi,

I'm just looking at the ZoneContaminantSourceAndSink:CarbonDioxide object and noticing that the generation rate is in m3/s.  The monitoring data I have measures ppm unfortunately. Do you know a way to use ppm in e+? It seems to me like the units probably can't or shouldn't be converted.

Thanks in advance,
