There are a number of reasons that can cause this to happen. One is that the design conditions used to size the cooling equipment may not match the actual load
of a particular location, time of year, and building orientation. In my area, southeast facing windows have the highest solar heat gain in early October while the design day is typically in July. You have a peak temperature at 6:00 PM which makes me think
you are getting high late day solar gains. I would check the design day and also look at the solar gains for this hot spot over the entire year. You may need to increase your equipment size for some zones. You could try increasing the cooling size factor
for the hot zones and that should reduce or eliminate your overheating. Ned Lyon, P.E. (MA, WV) SIMPSON GUMPERTZ & HEGER

Dear E+ experts, I have developed a 4 stories residential building (consisting apartments) in E+ and consider each apartment as a zone. floor area of each zone is 120 m2 and height of the zone is 3 m. So, the volume of each zone is around 360 M3. I set
27C as cooling and 22C as heating setpoint. I Also used the E+ HVAC template (PTAC). and the apartments are occupied whole the day. The problem I encountered is related to the zone temperature. the results of the simulation say that the zone temerature is more than 30C around 6 PM in some days. I do not know what should I do ! Does anybody have an idea about this issue? Thank you in advance Fatemeh __._,_.___ Posted by: "Edward G.
