Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Convention for slat angle on vertical window blinds

WindowMaterial:Blind are always horizontal. As far as I know there is no vertical slat blind model. You would need to create a custom shading object using angular transmission results at standard conditions which may be defined similar to an electrochromatic glazing pane, or indeed use the electrochromatic options possibly. There are some new very complex glazing shading objects which have been made available...see the highlights on the last releases.

Hi fellow modellers,

The WindowMaterial:Blind object has a slat angle property which is, according to the reference manual, "The angle (degrees) between the glazing outward normal and the slat outward normal, where the outward normal points away from the front face of the slat (degrees)".

When modelling a vertical external blind, what is the angle convention for this angle? Clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Thanks,

Patrick
