Thank you Jason. I tried the Contruction:WindowEquivalentLayer object as well. In that case the daylighting of the building is not giving correct result.
In my program I defined a clear glass material in WindowMaterial:Glazing: Equivalent Layer and added that in Contruction:WindowEquivalentLayer. I specified the visible transmittance properties as well. But the glass is being treated as if it has zero visible transmittance and no light is getting transmitted through it. Even for different transmittance values it is giving the same result.
Can you please help me with that?

can only be used with the Contruction:WindowEquivalentLayer
object and cannot be used with the regular Construction object.
These objects are using the ASHWAT model for the window layer
