The WindowMaterial objects that end
with "EquivalentLayer" can only be used
with the Contruction:WindowEquivalentLayer
object and cannot be used with the regular
Construction object. These objects are
using the ASHWAT model for the window
layer descriptions. Please see the
InputOutputReference section on
Construction:WindowEquivalentLayer for
more information.
Jason
I
have added the window glazing
properties in "WindowMaterial:Glazing"
and the drape properties in
"WindowMaterial:Drape:Equivalent
Layer". But when I am trying to
include both of them in "Construction"
the drape material is not coming in
the list for selection. Is it not
possible to combine normal material
with equivalent material in a
construction?
Equivalent
glazing is more
flexible regarding
function and
positioning of
shading...however it
is more complicated
to set up.

Hello,
Can
anyone tell me
the difference
between
"WindowMaterial:Glazing" and
"WindowMaterial:Glazing: Equivalent Layer" in EnergyPlus? When I am
defining a
material in
Equivalent
layer it is
not showing
while defining
a
"Construction".
Please help.
Thank
you,
