[EnergyPlus_Support] Weather file interpretation

Hi,

I searched in EnergyPlus documentation but I did not find information about how weather data are interpreted by EnergyPlus.

Indeed, weather date are given per hour, but the default simulation timestep is 10 min. With this simulation timestep I wonder how, for example, the exterior temperature at 12:40 is calculated knowing that we only have weather data for 12:00 and 13:00.

So, is the value given in the weather file at 12:00 is regarded by EnergyPlus as:

- an instantaneous value, that last from 12:00 to 12:59?

- an instantaneous value that is used with the value given at 13:00 to make an interpolation, for instance to obtain the value at 12:40?

- an average value calculated for one our, but in this case is it calculated from 11:00 to 12:00, 12:00 to 13:00 or 12:30 to 13:30?

Thanks for your help!
