Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Weather file dosn't match the location

Dear all,

Correct me if I am wrong, but if an object of the Site:Location class is not included in the IDF, information retrieved from the EPW file (first line) will be used. Hence, warnings about mismatching of the EPW and the IDF location will not occur (be reported in the err file). Concerning the design days, instead of defining objects of the SizingPeriod:DesignDays class, where numerous fields must be filled, objects of the SizingPeriod:WeatherFileConditionType could be used (only four properties must be defined for each object).

Regards,
Georgios

The IDF File/IDF Editor does not know which weather file you have selected -- IDF Editor doesn't read the weather file location information.  So, it is showing whatever is in the IDF File.

However, when you run the IDF File -- the weather file location information will override whatever is in the IDF File.
If you do not have the proper design days, you will need to change them in the IDF File.  Weather files do not override that information.

Hi! I'm a new user of energyplus. When i select my weather file and go to the IDF Editor, the location and all the data connected to the weather file are from Chicago USA. Why is that? Thanks in advance!
