Jim,
Thanks for your reply. Astronomical Clock works well. I was wanting to take into account sky conditions, setting the operation based on diffuse solar level. Iâ??ve been using IES VE and I create a formula profile and a time switch profile.. If diffuse solar is less than threshold ? on, else ? off. .

Dear Chris,
There is probably no need to use EMS. Consider:
- You may assign a schedule to the exterior lights in that object (e.g., OFF 0000 - 0600)
- You may also define the "Control option" (with or without a schedule) as "Astronomical Clock". This turns on the lights at sunset and off at sunrise - latitude and seasonally adjusted!

I am completely unfamiliar with EMS but it seems like it would be a valid way to control exterior lighting.
Â
A typical control for exterior lighting is using a photocell but disabled between midnight and 6:00 am. The EMS Sensor could be Output:Variable,*,Site Diffuse Solar Radiation Rate per Area, hourly; !- Zone Average [W/m2].
Â
But I am not sure of how to combine this with a clock schedule to disable the lights between midnight and 6:00 am?
