[EnergyPlus_Support] Window width equation for pivoted windows derivation process??

Hello!

 

First of all, this is not a question for an actual simulation problems but modeling processes and theoretical bases.

 

I am currently studying how to get the effective area of a pivoted window/door when it's not fully opened/closed.

 

As I went through the Engineering Reference 8.6, at page 641, I found window width equation for opening angle alpha.

 

But I could not find derivation of it despite I read related references, so I wonder where can I find it.
