Much better to use a station located on the same side (south facing) of the bay as Santa Cruz, like Watsonville, rather than Monterey which is on the opposite (north-facing) side and much cooler and foggier during the summer. When ACEEE moved their conference from UC Santa Cruz to Asilomar near Monterey, we all learned to trade our T-shirts and shorts for sweatshirts and long pants.
There are historical weather files for Watsonville on my WBT web site (weather.whiteboxtechnologies.com) from which I can also create a “typical year” weather file, if that’s what you need. It’s also possible to produce weather files for Santa Cruz itself using WeatherUnderground data. However, WBT is not a free service. Go to the web site or e-mail me for more details.
