I am reviewing a large EnergyPlus file – 616 Zones, 47 HVAC Air Loops. I was hoping to report:
Output:Variable,
*,
Zone Air Terminal Outdoor Air Volume Flow Rate,
Hourly; !- HVAC Average [m3/s]
The .idf already has a lot of Output:Variable requests and when I added the above, I got the warning that only the first 255 will be reported. So I removed all the original Output:Variable requests keeping only the above. With that change
the file does not run, does not give any error report. When I say the file doesn’t run, it hangs after all the batch file stuff completes and before EnergyPlus starts reporting the day of the simulation. When I run the original file, it also hangs at this
spot but after 2 hours and 16 minutes, it starts the simulation and runs to the end of the time period.
With the revised list of Output:Variable objects, I allowed 6 hours of hang time then gave up hitting Ctrl C.
The file also includes a bunch of EnergyManagementSystem: objects. I am wondering if there is a connection between Output:Variable objects and EnergyManagementSystem: objects and removing the Output:Variable objects causes the EnergyManagementSystem:
object to not respond?
I cannot share the file. I could send the list of original Output:Variable objects and EnergyManagementSystem: system objects.
