[EnergyPlus_Support] New Simulation Climate Data Available for “Middle East” from Climate. OneBuilding.Org
Climate.OneBuilding.org
is pleased to announce the availability of new climate data (TMYx)
for more than 260 locations in countries for the Middle
East. New countries uploaded are
Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi
Arabia, Syrian Arab Republic, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. This is in
addition to the previously uploaded data for Cyprus, Egypt, Kuwait,
Lebanon, and Turkey. New countries uploaded are
Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi
Arabia, Syrian Arab Republic, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. The TMYx
are derived from the ISD (US NOAA's Integrated Surface Database) with
hourly data through 2017 using the TMY2/ISO ISO 15927-4:2005
methodologies (that is, Typical Meteorlogical Years). There may be two
TMYxs for a location, e.g., for Cairo Intl AP:
EGY_QH_Cairo.Intl.AP.623660_TMYx, and EGY_QH_Cairo.Intl.AP.623660_TMYx.
In those cases, there's a TMY for the entire period of record and a
second TMY for the most recent 15 years (2003-2017). Not all locations
have recent data.
Adding these data to the earlier (April 2018 and October 2018) sets,
Climate.OneBuilding.org now
provides climate TMYx data at no cost for more than 4,400 locations
and another 3,000 from other data sources worldwide. All data have
been through extensive quality checking to identify and correct data
errors and out of normal range values where appropriate.
Each climate location .zip on
Climate.OneBuilding.Org
contains: EPW (EnergyPlus weather format), CLM (ESP-r weather
format), and WEA (Daysim weather format) along with DDY (ASHRAE design
conditions in EnergyPlus format), RAIN (hourly precipitation in mm, where
available), and STAT (expanded EnergyPlus weather statistics).
