[Equest-users] Negative Cooling Load

A few other comments...

There is definitely something wrong when all 100% hours are outside of your throttling zone.

On your PS-F report, in your sim file, your space cooling loads are higher in the winter than in the summer. This is unexpected for the Regina climate. Also, it does not look like your area lights are on in January and December?

I would check your schedules, to ensure your lighting, equipment, occupancy, heating, cooling, and fan profiles are realistic. Also, on your SS-E file, you have a lot of coincidental heating and cooling loads. Might be something going on there.

Best of luck! Lots of systems to juggle in this one, it seems.

Yes, EE4 does this sort of thing. Specify that a cooling plant exists, but with 0 Btu capacity.

I, in fact, don't have a .INP and .PD2 because I am not using equest. I am however using a similar software (EE4-Canadian Based) that uses DOE simulation engine. I have attached the doe-2 .sim file for review if that would help.

Thanks,
Ahmed

I'm curious too. The BEPS is not a loads report - its an energy performance report, so the cooling numbers that show up here are really cooling energy numbers.

It would be nice to see the inp file

Hi all,

In the DOE file in the BEPS Report (Building Energy Performance Summary Report) the cooling load is negative. Does anyone know what would that possibly mean?

Regards,
