[Equest-users] Unmet load hours definition

Hi Christie!

In this case and I’m sure in others – the intuitive thing on the LEED documentation may not be clear if you aren’t already familiar with the corresponding requirements in 90.1. The templates and handbook standing alone probably leave many similar questions unanswered – they often use language paraphrasing the requirements of 90.1 Appendix G, but don’t always convey the full meaning.

To avoid this and similar unintuitive trip-ups, I’d anyone starting out to first study and review 90.1 Appendix G at a deliberate pace and in its entirety. Refer to previous sections of 90.1 liberally as they’re referenced and to help answer any queries along the way (if time allows, I’d suggest starting from the beginning of 90.1 – familiarity only helps). After feeling comfortable understanding the contents and requirements of Appendix G, then I’d advise taking a fresh look at the LEED handbook, template and EAp2 spreadsheet – you’ll recognize multiple parallel requirements that are worded ever so slightly differently – hopefully you’ll then be able to immediately recognize when 90.1 has a similar requirement that can clarify what’s being asked for.

BTW: the section that illustrating where the LEED reviewer is coming from in this instance is [90.1-2007 G.3.1.2.2] ;).

Subject: [Equest-users] Unmet load hours definition

Hi,

I have noticed that sometimes the following two lines are added to the BEPU report:

“Hours any zone above cooling throttling range

Hours any zone below heating throttling range” please refer to the below report for the example.

For LEED I didn’t know if I should just use the % in this case 9.54% or the actual hours specified?

The LEED reviewers came back and said that I needed to use the hours however I would have thought the %?
