[Equest-users] Sizing runs in baseline model

Hi!

I got the unmet hours fixed in my baseline model. I think it had something to do with the return air path - I had switched them from ducted to plenum (to match design case because I didn't see an App. G requirement for it) but had them as unconditioned.

Back to the sub-metering question. I missed this in my discussion with the review team -would it make sense to put ALL the process power on the sub-meter as a way to directly see it? Seems that way to me. For our project process power includes:

* Receptacles (office equipment and task lights)

*         Refrigeration

*         Cooking

I don't think there are any difficulties in assigning these to the sub-meter. I see there are places to directly assign them in the meter properties - is there a risk of duplicating / double-counting them if they're also entered at the zone / system inputs?

Thanks, all. Have a great Memorial Day weekend and take a moment to thank a Vet!

Meter assignment at the system level will trickle down as the default, unless overridden at the zone - there won't be any double-counting as the electricity rate will only refer to the main meter, not a submeter.

Thanks, David! I'll go back to an older model file and start over and try to figure out what happened. I'll make all the other changes first before doing the sizing run.

I was also asked to make an electric sub-meter for the process energy - I've noticed that meters can be assigned at both the zone and system levels - do I need to coordinate these so they aren't double counted?

There is also an input in the systems dialogue to add sizing capacity as part of the simulation, but you could also take the approach that you used. Main caveat is that if you change something else in the simulation, you'll have to repeat the process since the values aren't dynamic any longer.

I do like the approach though, as it gives you a quality assurance step when you review the results individually.
