Hector,
I don't know why the DOE-2 and eQUEST designers did what they did.
They're a lot smarter than I am so they must have had a good reason! ;)
Whether you use WLHP or PSZ, PVVT or PVAVS, you must select a CW loop to
reject heat to (and absorb heat from). You can create a system per zone
with PSZ etc. just like you can with WLHP to account for the diversity
of multiple systems. AFAIK, the performance curves will take into
account the fact that some systems are rejecting heat and others
absorbing heat to/from the loop.
If I'm way off base here somebody please correct me...

Regards,
Bill

Thanks, could you please tell me why I cannot use water loop heat pump
type? I don't want to lose the heat exchange between the heat pump
through the water loop. Some HPs could be doing heating meanwhile other
are doing cooling. If I model the system like air handle with a HP as
heating source and water cooled condenser , I am not sure that this
present the interaction between the HPs.

Hector,

You can simulate a water-to-air heat pump using the PSZ, PVVT or PVAVS
system types by selecting HEAT-PUMP as the HEAT-SOURCE and selecting
WATER-COOLED as the cooling CONDENSER-TYPE.

Could anybody help me this: I have a 7 stories building, that is heated
through a water loop heat pump. I could not specify the outside air ,
or the heat recovery in this type of system. These areas are grey out.

thanks
