Thanks for a clarifying view, Steve. I come from the world of running DOE-2.1B in a desktop for 12 HOURS !! So a few minutes more run time isn't even on my radar !!

Kirti --

The method you propose is slightly different than what John recommends. Clicking the multiplier box (your proposal) is really more appropriate for repetitive floors of a tower. What John's recommending is that you create one building and then copy it in the shell Wizard. John's method gives greater accuracy but will require more computation time for your computer. This is probably a good trade-off.

Kirti:

I have done campuses several times. Each building that is duplicated can use the multiplier method, but each building may have a different orientation and distance between the others. Create Building 1 shell (single story ??), then create the 2nd building (duplicating the 1st building), but then on the 1st screen give it a distance and orientation from the 1st building. If all other parameters are the same in Building 1 as Building 2, you should be fine.

hi,

i have to model a two campus buildings.
in one case the buildings are such designed that they are independent structures located a distance away from each other. there are four building with stilt parking under each.

and in the second case, the buildings are designed as a closed loop with a small construction joint in them. also in this case there are 12 buildings in all, but 5 prototypes which are repeated to form a closed loop. will checking the shell multiplier tab help in this? i was thinking of using the shell multiplier for buildings with repetitive footprints instead of making all the 12 buildings.

please guide me through.
thanking all in anticipation.
