[Equest-users] Dual Path AHU's in eQUEST

I'm a general proponent of using dummy zones for the ventilation loads. If you supply neutral air, it makes the energy recovery equation work out okay, though the discharge air programming can be a little dicey. Supplying below-neutral OA adds complication to the modeling and may not be represent significant energy savings, depending on the systems and load profile of the building.

I have to wrap up a dual-duct VAV cool deck / fresh air deck model in the next few weeks - so I feel like this is a timely question. Haven't had to deal with this in a while. ;)

Subject: [Equest-users] Dual Path AHU's in eQUEST

Has anyone ever had to model a Dual Path AHU in eQUEST? If so, I am wondering how exactly you went about modeling it. I currently have my OA & RA coil capacities lumped together as a single coil, which isn't totally correct. Another option would be to treat it like a DOAS serving an AHU but with no fan energy for the DOAS, but that's not totally true either as the air wouldn't pass thru both coils. Anyone had any experience/incite on this topic from an energy modeling standpoint?

Thanks in advance,
