make sure you're NOT looking at the "filename-baseline.inp" file instead of
the filename.inp file.  the file w/the -baseline.inp added to it is
typically empty unless the simulation is actually running.  not sure of its
use but i did that yesterday - opened the wrong/empty .inp file & became
confused.
