Community Energy Program
RE: Grant Funding Available for energy efficiency, renewable energy and pollution prevention projects!!
Dear Greg Lenaghan,
The StEPP Foundation is looking for projects with significant and measurable environmental benefits to fund in the Greater Chicago area, in Illinois and throughout the country. Established in July of 2001, the StEPP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization whose primary mission is to increase the number of energy efficiency, renewable energy and pollution prevention projects implemented at the local, state and national levels for the benefit of the public. The StEPP Foundation offers opportunities for organizations across the country to demonstrate the positive benefits of renewable energy, energy efficiency and pollution prevention projects in their communities. Funding is provided to a limited number of projects, in one-year to three-year time frames. Projects must meet a minimum funding requirement.
Help us increase the number of environmental projects taking place in your community by applying today at www.steppfoundation.org. The online form takes about 10 - 15 minutes to complete and will log your project idea into the StEPP Foundation's national database to be matched with funding sources when available. The StEPP Foundation operates a project selection process several times during the year, which meets the following core principles:
¨ To provide a direct strategy for improving air and water quality, and reducing solid and hazardous waste (multi-media quantifiable benefits);
¨ To provide the state or area benefited with a winning public and environmental health strategy;
¨ To provide incentives for the development and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects;
¨ To maximize environmental benefit for each dollar invested;
¨ To support investments in opportunities that have environmental benefits from renewable related projects;
¨ To support energy efficiency/renewable energy (EERE) products, services and technologies;
¨ To increase the number of renewable energy projects;
¨ To increase the number of renewables in the marketplace;
¨ To connect land use and ecosystem health; and
¨ To connect environmental and public health issues.
StEPP UP and help us make the future now! Do we have the right Contact Information for your Organization? We do our best to contact the most appropriate individual within each organization on our mailing list. Please help us keep our database up to date by emailing updates, comments or questions to comments at steppfoundation.org.
If you are aware of other organizations that might be interested in this information, please pass this on to them.
Sincerely,
Ellen E. Drew, Executive Director
StEPP Foundation

Subject: [BLDG-SIM] Help me publicize BLDG-SIM
It has been a while (a few years) since I publicized the
BLDG-SIM mailing list. My goal is to make it a resource for
everyone who may have a question about building energy
simulation. Unfortunately, only 530 people currently
subscribe to BLDG-SIM and yet over 50,000 use building
energy simulation programs worldwide (sum of vendor
reported values on www.energytools.gov under whole building
analysis - energy simulation).
I would like to put together a "press release" e-mail to
send out to different mailing lists, publications, and
forums. If necessary, I would seek permission from the list
administrator so that it does not appear to be spam.
I would like your help, please e-mail me (jglazer at gard.com)
the names and/or websites for any mailing lists,
newsletters or forums that are building related or building
energy related.
I will put together a summary of all the suggestions and
post it.
Thanks,
Jason
