Andrew,

The following is from an email sent out with the announcement of eQuest
V3.6. Hope this helps.

Water-Loop and Ground Source Heat Pump Enhancements
The ability to model water loop heat pumps , in both ground coupled and
conventional configurations,
has been greatly enhanced in two major ways:

1. Water-source heat pump - the PVVT, PVAVS and PSZ systems can
now be specified to be
water-loop heat pump systems thus allowing all the options of these
SYSTEM TYPEs to be available for
use in modeling water -loop heat pump configurations (including
variable flow, staged heating and
cooling, heat recovery, ERV's, as well as sub-zone conditioning and
return air plenum pathways.

I am modeling a single story building that uses a ground-source, water
to water heat pump to serve radiant heating/cooling slabs. A majority
of the building utilizes natural ventilation although mechanical
ventilation is needed for the restrooms and a laboratory space with a
fume hood. The plans call for a HRV unit to provide this make-up air
to
the spaces and this is where I run into problems. For SYSTEM, TYPE =
HP, in eQUEST, it won't let me model an HRV unit although the graphic
appears in the Air-Side HVAC System window. Any suggestions for
turning
on this feature in a HP system?
