You don't want EnergyPlus for a straight thermodynamics problem.  You could use WUFI or MOIST 3.0 which perform one-dimensional heat and moisture migration [neither of these programs get the night sky radiation quite right].  You could also use HEAT 2 which has a transient input calculation.

I'm sure there are several other thermodynamics programs that could solve your problem.
