WUFI is a good candidate but will not serve the second phase of this research, which is investigating active means to prevent freezing.I don’t have the full version of WUFI(cost around $2000). I am using it for sensitivity analysis. Also, I don’t think MOIST allows for specifying outside conditions for both building element surfaces. Do you think I can manipulate MOIST to accept exterior conditions in both faces.

>You don't want EnergyPlus for a straight thermodynamics problem.  You could use WUFI or MOIST 3.0 which perform one-dimensional heat and moisture migration [neither of these programs get the night sky radiation quite right].  You could also use HEAT 2 which has a transient input calculation.
