[EnergyPlus_Support] Surface Vertices Question

With the number of surface vertices equal to four,
does the surface object have to be a rectangle?

Many roof surfaces have four vertices but are not a
rectangle, especially hip-type roofs. Do I have to
break these surfaces down to two triangles?

The documentation states, "window subsurfaces can be
rectangular or triangular."
