Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] EnergyPlus Construction documentation question

Sorry, the list of valid window layers hasn't kept up with some of
the new object types. Valid window layers are:

MATERIAL:WINDOWGLASS
MATERIAL:WINDOWGLASS:AltInput
MATERIAL:WINDOWGAS
MATERIAL:WINDOWGASMIXTURE
MATERIAL:WINDOWSHADE
MATERIAL:WINDOWBLIND

Page 70 of the Input/Output reference lists the following rules for
window constructions:

"The gap between the inside glass layer (layer #3) and the shading
layer is not entered. A maximum of four glass layers and one shading
layer is allowed. If there is a shading layer, it must be the first
or last layer (no between-pane shading devices!). A gas layer must
always separate adjacent glass layers in a multi-pane glazing."

Also, it would not be valid to put two gas layers adjacent to each
other, because the resistance of a gas layer is dependent upon the
thickness of the gap. The resistance of two 1cm gaps is not
necessarily the same as the resistance of a 2cm gap.
