[EnergyPlus_Support] Floors / Roofs

I am having some trouble defining the floors and roofs for each zone of my
simulation.

The zones that I have created are not rectangular in shape. According to
the E+ manual, the floors & roofs should be defined as rectangles (one for
each zone).

Is it correct then to create a rectangle with an area that's equivalent to
the area of your zone? If so, won't you have a situation in which the
floors/roofs impede on the floors/roofs for your other zones? Would that
have an impact on your results?

Or should each zone be broken down into smaller areas of rectangular shape?

I'm just not sure of the proper approach.

Thanks in advance.
