Return plenums are much more flexible and may be in parallel or in 
series.  A return plenum can have multiple inlets and a single 
outlet.  The temperature impacts on the plenum zones are lagged by 
one zone timestep for each level of plenum.

The return air flow must originate in a zone which has an air loop 
supply inlet.  This supply flow, less any exhaust from that zone, 
establishes the return air flow rate.  A return plenum can receive 
one or more return flows (either directly from zones or from other 
return plenums) and pass the total flow through it's outlet to 
another plenum or to a zone mixer or to the air loop return inlet.
