[EnergyPlus_Support] Zone mean air temperature

I have just simualted a file asking for a) the average internal temperature in a zone per month and b) the hourly temperatures for the same zone and month (July). When the hour by hour readings are averaged, the average temperature result is very different (the average is 14.7 deg C for month by month and 19.3 deg C for hour by hour. The building I am simulating is controlled to between 21 and 22 deg C. This suggests to me that the calculation for average monthly temperature is incorrect, or that I am somehow misinterpreting my output.  Any ideas?
