[EnergyPlus_Support] venting schedule
hi:
in COMIS Zone Data, if i set the ventialtion control mode to CONSTANT (windows open at all times independent of conditions, which is what i want) CAN i then modulate these openings on a time of day schedule? for example by using the Venting Schedule.
now there are 2 places where i can specify this Venting Schedule - Zone Data and Surface Data. also in Surface Data it is mandatory to input Window Openness Factor for each opening. once i enter this factor then it disregards any venting schedule that i may enter in any of the above 2 places mentioned - the opening areas are modulated accordning to the openness factor for ALL hours.
example case - control mode CONSTANT, openness factor set to, say 0.5 (half open), and a venting schedule (either 1.0 or 0.5) specified too (in Surface Data). result - Window/Door Venting Opening Factor = 0.00 (opening closed all all hours)... shouldn't it be 0.5*1.0 or 0.5 depending on time of day venting schedule???
basically what is happening is if venting schedule is specified at Zone level then it is overridden (ignored) by openness factor and if it is entered in Surface Data level - it results in zero.
please can anyone explain what i am doing incorrectly or if i am missing something.
thank you.
