[EnergyPlus_Support] My question: Construction of Glass Curtain Wall

Hi, Mike:

Thanks for your help. I still have some questions for your comment.

1. >> You must describe an opaque base wall surface and then place window subsurfaces on it. For the opaque portion, you cannot use material:windowglass. If your opaque sections have a glass exterior layer, then you need to describe a material:regular layer with the appropriate thermal properties.

The buidling I am going to model is a 7-level curtain wall building and all the exterior wall is almost glass curtain wall. So the transparent property will affect the daylighting and solar radiation. Can I define it as regular layer?

2.>> The divider between the glazing can be described using window frame and divider objects. Or, if the dividing section is just a section of the opaque base wall, you do not need to describe anything additional.

The dividing is between the glass curtain wall, not the window. The dividing is very large and can not be ignored becase of the Thermal Bridge consideration. Could you you tell me what is the better option?

Thanks you.

Best regards,

David Tian
