You do not need to uninstall though it would probably be a good idea.  (It 
won't take off any files you might have changed).  If you did change/use 
some of the example files, you probably should put them in a new folder of 
your own.

You can install on top of 1.1 or in a different folder.  Later, you can 
uninstall 1.1
