[EnergyPlus_Support] New EnergyPlus V 1.2 Build available

Good news and bad news....

Bad news--we found a few bugs in Version 1.2 that you need to know about...

- WATER HEATER:SIMPLE did not update outlet nodes unless there is a flow
through the tank and did not lower the tank temperature when the source
side flow is at a lower temperature. Both problems have been fixed.

- If the Air Distribution System, COMIS or SIMPLE Air Flow Models were
specified in the same idf, there was double counting of the infiltration
and mixing loads when the air distribution system is active. This has been
resolved by removing the loads calculated by the COMIS or SIMPLE air flow
models for the simulation periods when the air distribution system is
active.

- For a central air system with both central chilled water cooling coil and
central hot water heating coil (each with its own controller) controlling
to a single setpoint we saw cases of simultaneous heating and cooling when
this should never occur. We found that the air loop simulation was not
initializing the actuator inlet water flow correctly - both in the node
data and in the controller data structure. This has been fixed.

- Several HVAC templates were cleaned up and updated.

- Surplus Electricity showed incorrect timestep dependence.  This has been
fixed.


Good news--a new build (29) of EnergyPlus Version 1.2 which fixes these
issues is now available from the EnergyPlus web site.

Steps to get the new build:

1. Go to the EnergyPlus web site ( www.energyplus.gov ) and click on
Getting EnergyPlus.

2. Complete the registration info (yes, you have to register again...).

3. Download the new version.  You may want to try the Windows web
install--it only will download the necessary new files, not everything.
