In case you still had some questions . . .

Yes, the PV models account for shading based on the geometry of the surface to
which it is attached and other surfaces in the simulation.

Yes, you must adjust performance for dirt manually.

One other note, in the GENERATOR:PV:EQUIVALENT ONE-DIODE model, the active area
is only used to calculate the efficiency report variable.  The inputs for
number of modules control the total power output of the PV array.
