Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Inexplicable output data
Two issues are causing the big difference in results between version 1.1.1 and
1.2.1.
1) Version 1.1.1 had a bug related to the use of zone multipliers which caused
the zone loads to be reported as zero for zones with multipliers.
2) The main heating coil is sizing to zero capacity, so the reheat coils are
the only source for heating.
Both of these bugs have been fixed in version 1.2.0 or 1.2.1. If you must
continue to run with version 1.1.1, you will need to set all zone multipliers
to 1 and explicitly describe each zone. You may also need to put in a hard
size for the main heating coil in order for it to function (you could probably
put in a very large size and set the plf curve to be flat for the purpose of
your study).
SET POINT MANAGER:WARMEST is being used to establish setpoints for both the
heating coil and cooling coil. The heating coil should use SET POINT
MANAGER:COLDEST.
I would suggest that you turn only hourly reports and run some design days with
both 1.1.1 and 1.2.1 and adjust the simulation until you get reasonable results
with both versions (they will never be identical due to many enhancements and
bug fixes).
