RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Frame and divider

Matteo,

In DesignBuilder frames are applied to all rectangular windows (default and
custom) but not to other shaped windows and not when using the 'Fill surface
(100%)' facade type.

If you need to include a frame/dividers and your surface is rectangular then
I would recommend using the 'Preferred height' facade option and setting the
percentage glazing to 100.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Frame and divider

Dear all,
I exported a building from Design Builder to Energy Plus and I have a
problem with the identification of frames in the SubSurfaces.
In the E+ SubSurface section the frame is labelled only when I draw a
single window in Design Builder. When in DB I fill the whole surface
of a wall with a transparent surface and I assign to it the features
of frame and dividers, the frame is not labelled in E+ SubSurface
section and the proper box is empty.
So, how can I control this factor? Is the frame considered anyway,
even if it's not labelled, or the transparent SubSurface lost its
frame features in the file export from DB?

Regards

Matteo
