Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Question about solar gains.



EnergyPlus does know the area of the surface, but the goal of these report 
variables was to report the solar intensity which is easier to compare between 
surfaces when it have been normalized by the area.  If incident solar for each 
surface in W would be usefeul, I can add it to the suggestion list.
Most report variables are defined in the Input Output Reference, just search 
for the variable name.  There are four related report variables for incident 
solar:

  Surface Ext Solar Incident
  Surface Ext Solar Beam Incident
  Surface Ext Solar Sky Diffuse Incident
  Surface Ext Solar Ground Diffuse Incident

The first one is the sum of the last three.
